Carter Crosby

actor - writer - musician

Hey, I’m Carter!

Originally from Yorktown, Virginia, I’m now a DC-based actor, musician, and writer. A lifetime music lover, I grew up playing the drums with my Dad and taught myself guitar at 13; and after receiving a B.A. in Musical Theatre and minor in Creative Writing (Go Dukes!), I moved to the DMV area to do what I love most– sharing art to create community.

Recently, I was featured in NextStop Theatre’s Once as Guy, and Forum Theatre Wichita’s Million Dollar Quartet for my third time as Carl Perkins! Other favorite credits include: Toby’s Dinner Theatre’s The Little Mermaid (Prince Eric), Rock of Ages (Ensemble/Drew (U/S)), and Jersey Boys (Bob Gaudio); Monument Arts and Cultural Center’s Million Dollar Quartet (Elvis Presley); Ovations Theatre’s The Last Five Years (Jamie), and Iron Crow Theatre’s RENT (Roger Davis) performed at the M&T Bank Exchange!

If you want to find me, I’m probably out listening to whichever cassette tape or CD I recently got my hands on, or writing some tunes– check out my EP “Providence” out on all platforms!

  • ONCE

    Audrey Cahak, Broadway World DC

“Lead actor Carter Crosby had the earnest facial expressions and heroic yet emotional belt of a Disney prince for the perfect moody and heartfelt interpretation of Guy who carried the weight of the show and its world on his shoulders.”

  • MDQ

    Zach Cooley, SWVA Today

“Wohlfahrt Haus newcomer Carter Crosby shone the brightest of all with his electrifying presence as Carl Perkins. Matching the brilliance of his metallic red electric guitar, which he shredded effortlessly while duck-walking better than Chuck Berry through numbers like ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ and ‘My Babe,’ Crosby dropped to his knees while wailing on his guitar.”

  • RENT

    Leonard Taube, Theatre Bloom

“Roger Davis (played with convincing prowess by Carter Crosby)… His voice is at times soft and at others commanding (“One Song Glory” & “Without You” showcases this well), and Crosby takes the audience inside his head through well directed and executed acting, exposing his complicated feelings towards life and his struggles to move on and find fulfilment.”

  • RIDE THE CYCLONE

    Naomi Ducat, Broadway World DC

“Carter Crosby (who plays Mischa) delivers a compelling performance, showing he can sing and dance to a range of musical genres including hip-hop, all while adapting to a foreign accent.”

  • THE LITTLE MERMAID

    Chuck Duncan, HOTCHKA

“New addition to the cast include Carter Crosby, who looks like a Disney prince, and has the voice to match. He makes Eric’s quest to find the woman with the voice believable… Crosby makes the audience feel what Eric is feeling.”
